Mid-Autumn Festival  2015 entitled “Under the same moon"

The Mid-Autumn Festival is also known as Moon Festival.  In China the Mid-Autumn Festival is the most important festival after the Spring Festival.  This festival is traditionally celebrated on the 15th day of the 8th Lunar month and it has a history of more than one thousand years. The Mid-Autumn Festival is regarded as a symbol of family reunion.  It is believed that at this time of the year, the moon is at its roundest and brightest.  On this day, family members join together at home and appreciate the moon in the sky.The China Cultural Centre in collaboration with the Mahatma Gandhi Institute celebrated the Mid-Autumn Festival 2015.  On that occasion a multi-cultural programme entitled “Under the same moon” was put up on Sunday 27th September at 19 30 hrs in the MGI Auditorium. The programme was presented by local artistes which was very much appreciated by each and everyone present.
